Nittsjö Ceramics is one of Sweden’s oldest active ceramics workshops, located near Rättvik in Dalarna, Sweden. It was founded in 1843, originally starting as a brickworks before shifting into pottery and ceramics production.

Erik Mornils (1900–1974) worked at Nittsjö Ceramics from around 1925 until 1967, as one of the key figures shaping the company’s artistic output during the time. His pieces are valued as representative examples of Swedish interwar ceramics combining tradition with modern aesthetics, blending Art Deco and early modernist Scandinavian design with robust forms and expressive, often richly glazed finishes. His work helped modernize Nittsjö’s production in the 1920s–1930s and gained recognition through exhibitions, including the influential Stockholm Exhibition of 1930.
